Additionally, regular honing with a honing steel or rod can help prolong the time between sharpening by realigning the blade's edge.

How long does it take to sharpen a knife?

The time it takes to sharpen your knives depends on the quantity and condition of the blades. In most cases, we can complete the sharpening process within 24 to 48 hours.

Do you offer pick-up or drop-off services?

Yes, we offer a convenient drop-off service by appointment for our knife sharpening customers. Simply call or text us to schedule your preferred drop-off date and time at our Blade Butler shop.

Our drop-off service is perfect for busy home cooks, restaurant owners, or anyone who prefers the flexibility of dropping off their knives at their convenience. We'll ensure your knives are expertly sharpened and ready for pick-up as quickly as possible.

How much material does knife sharpening typically remove?

We always aim to remove the minimum amount of material necessary to achieve a sharp, high-performing edge. Our skilled sharpeners use precision techniques to preserve the integrity and longevity of your knives.

How do I get my knives to you to get them sharpened?

There are a couple convenient options for getting your knives to us at Blade Butler for professional sharpening:

  1. Shop Drop Off: You're welcome to bring your knives directly to our shop during our regular business hours. We're located at 110 Hicks Rd Nashville TN 37221. Our team will check in your items and provide an estimated turnaround time.
  2. Pickup/Delivery Service: If you're within our 7-mile service radius, we offer free pickup and drop-off of your knives. Just contact us to schedule a time and one of our team members will come to your location to collect your blades. For customers outside the 7-mile radius, we do charge a $45 fee to cover the additional travel time and transportation costs.

Whichever method you choose, we recommend bringing or sending your knives in a secure container to prevent any potential injuries during transport. Our team will carefully inspect each item and provide an update once your knives have been sharpened and are ready for return.

Do I need to take my knives to a professional to get them sharpened?

While professional sharpening services can be a great option, especially for high-end or specialty knives, many people find they can achieve great results sharpening their own knives at home.

With the right tools and a bit of practice, you can easily learn to sharpen your kitchen, hunting, or pocket knives yourself. Blade Butler offers a range of sharpening equipment and detailed tutorials to help you master the art of sharpening at home.

What are your shop hours?

At Blade Butler, we're open 6 days a week to accommodate our customers' busy schedules. Our current hours of operation are:

Monday - Friday: 9 AM to 6 PM
Saturday: 10 AM to 4 PM
Closed on Sundays

We understand that many of our customers have full-time jobs or other commitments during the typical 9-5 work week. That's why we've extended our hours to include Saturdays, making it easier for you to drop off or pick up your knives at your convenience.

If you need to visit us outside of our regular hours, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'll do our best to accommodate special requests or schedule an appointment that works with your availability.

Our shop is closed on Sundays to allow our team to recharge and prepare for the busy week ahead. But we're always just a phone call or email away if you have any questions about our services or need to arrange a pickup/drop-off.
